The next time that you are out shopping for groceries or taking in a meal at a local cafe, you might want to keep in mind that some of the prices might be higher. Indeed, it seems like every time that my wife and I go out to eat, they have an updated menu.
This is because companies across the board, from Chipotle to Safeway to Piggly Wiggly have been experiencing the negative effects of Biden’s leadership (or lack thereof). They are raising prices in an effort to make up for the extra costs in transportation, labor, and goods, as noted in the Wall Street Journal.
This, folks, is the latest REAL inconvenience brought on by the Biden Effect, otherwise known as rampant inflation and continually increasing costs.
Consumer prices continue to fly upward, as much as five percent in May, and this marks the highest rate of inflation since the Great Recession in 2008.
It is only now beginning to become apparent to most people that the cost of necessities such as food are threatening to combine with that runaway inflation to cause a serious detriment to everyday Americans. We’re not talking about Wall Street America, we are talking about Main Street America.
“Quite frankly, I can’t say that we are done with all of the pricing actions that we will have to take,” Hormel CEO Jim Snee told the Wall Street Journal. “There’s still more to come.” He was discussing the company’s decision to raise prices on everything from Spam to peanut butter.
The squeeze on Americans’ wallets still isn’t enough to price anyone completely out of food, but those who have larger families should expect higher grocery bills and plan accordingly.
This latest hardship is nothing more than an unfortunate fact of the Biden Administration’s terrible domestic policies, as noted by Ohio Senator Michael Rulli.
“Inflation is a tax on American families,” Rulli said.
If the food costs continue to go up and they just go unaddressed by the White House, everyday Americans are going to be forced to spend more within a disrupted market if they want to eat. Apparently, the costs of a progressive stimulus fever definitely have to be borne out by more than just simple tax dollars.
It’s little wonder the situation has many feeling nostalgic for the Trump Administration.
“Under Biden, we have rising inflation, open borders, an energy crisis, a stagnant economy, & weak foreign policy,” Florida Rep. Byron Donalds said.
Later, Representative Donalds posted a message on Twitter directed to the former President Trump, saying, “We miss your leadership, sir.”
Indeed, when you consider the mass inflation, rising food costs, and mass worker shortages, and a historic border crisis, Biden’s number one policy priority appears to be highway robbery.
