The Biden Administration continues to show its liberal colors. What are they up to now? Well, apparently they have recently authorized U.S. embassies to fly LGBTQ and Black Lives Matter flags instead of the regular United States flag! One of the places where this was first seen was at the U.S. embassy in Athens, Greece.
The gesture has prompted backlash from many different individuals, including Representative Nicole Mailliotakis (R-NY). This congresswoman has recently introduced legislation that would prevent political flags other than the regular American flag from being flown at these U.S. Embassies in all of their respective overseas locations.
This GOP representative from Staten Island recently introduced the Stars and Stripes Act of 2021, which is a direction from the Secretary of State “that would restrict the display of certain flags, banners and similar items from diplomatic and consular posts throughout the world.”
“This is highly inappropriate,” she said. “President Biden and Secretary Blinken should not be allowed to authorize and encourage the display of such inherently political flags because they are simply not affiliated with the U.S. Government, and so they have no place at our overseas American embassies,” Malliotakis said.
“This is the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder, and we must remember that in order to be a credible force for human rights abuses all over the world, we will have to address our shortcomings as honestly and openly as possible. We have to live up to the values that we stand for at home in order to do it worldwide.”
