Texas Governor Greg Abbott is now totally FED UP at some of the politics surrounding the mask mandates. He has decided that it is time to stop all of this COVID-19 madness and get everyone back to work, back to shopping, back to running errands, and just back to their lives in general! He is now pushing citizens to go maskless and get the economy of Texas kickstarted into high gear. This is why Governor Abbott tweeted out that it’s time that “Texas is OPEN 100%” and he has now made a new executive order that local governments are going to be fined if they continue to impose mask mandates. The governor has also proclaimed that even public schools will be prohibited from imposing a mask mandate.
Starting on Monday, May 24, 2020, any local government that is attempting to impose a mask mandate in the state of Texas will face of up to $1,000. Moreover, public schools are prohibiting masks after June 4th. Of course, there is a litany of liberals in the states of Michigan and New York respectively that probably think that COVID-related hospitalizations are probably way up in the state of Texas. However, that just isn’t the case. As a matter of fact, Texas recently recorded the fewest COVID hospitalizations in their state in at least eleven months.
This state also recorded the lowest 7-day COVID positivity rate since they began keeping track of the data. As of May 24th, it is currently sitting at 3.66%. Moreover, it has been lower than 4% for nearly a week.
Public schools are now prohibited from mandating masks after June 4th.
