MSNBC had some interesting programming on the other day. There was an expert in infectious diseases who joined the panel on Tuesday and his shtick was to urge parents to continue to wear their masks despite anything that the CDC has to say. The reason? This doctor said that he wanted the parents to stand “in solidarity” with their masked children!
Let’s just forget for a minute that forcing a child to wear a mask for a whole entire day would border on child abuse. Let’s also just forget for a minute that now there is absolutely no reason for vaccinated people to wear masks to fend off the threat of a virus, either. Oh brother. This would seriously make a good South Park episode.
No, let’s just forget all of that, and let’s just ignore the advice from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which has now come out and said that people can ditch the mask. According to this MSNBC expert, let’s just play games now.
Dr. Nahid Bhadelia is with the Boston University School of Medicine and she asked the viewers who were watching the “Morning Joe” on Tuesday to continue wearing a mask as a “show of unity” with these abused children. This would definitely be an exercise in theatrics, but that is what Bhadelia proposed regardless.
This prompted MSNBC host Willie Geist to ask this Boston University infectious disease expert how these families with children under the age of 12 should handle their lives in the coming months.
“Could you talk with us a little bit more about how these families with young children should handle the summer months as they move around?” Geist asked. “Like how is it that they should go to dinner, or should they mix with other families, or how should they handle the fact that school is out and these kids are exposed to camp and these other things?”
Dr. Bhadelia answered, and needless to say, her response basically blows the lid off the post-vaccine coronavirus pandemic. Her answer basically exposes this as a grotesques spectacle that is nothing more than an exercise in liberal virtue signaling.
“So, the one thing that we continue to see is that in the communities where there has been a high rate of vaccinations in adults, it means that the transmission rate actually goes down in the kids.”
Okay, doc, fair enough, but then she said that adults should just continue to keep their masks on. Why? Well, she says, it because the adults need to “continue masking in solidarity until we can reach higher rates of vaccination from that perspective. I look at it just way.” Oh brother.
“I know that I myself am going to continue wearing a mask until flu season is over and during long business trips as well. I will probably still wear a mask in crowded places.”
Well, golly gee whiz, have people become so immune to government programming that at this point they are simply going to go along with whatever any government “expert” says? What, are we supposed to just put our mask on for show now? Apparently, that is what Dr. Bhadelia is recommending.
What do you think about what this government expert said? We would appreciate your comments!
