Bernie Sanders has just said something that is truly shocking, even by his standards. I guess that even a blind pig can find one every once in a while as well!
Here’s the backstory to this. Schools continue to debate whether they should reopen their schools full-time, and along with that debate, there is some talk about whether children 12-17 should get the vaccine or not. Either way, it definitely looks like there is going to be full approval for Pfizer to approve their COVID-19 vaccine for individuals in this age group. This is where Bernie Sanders comes in.
You see, this liberal lawmaker doesn’t think that it’s wise for the government to mandate that kids in these age ranges should get the vaccine!
This comes in the midst of the debate over whether this emergency use authorization is warranted or not. “Pfizer performed a clinical trial among 12-15 year-olds where they determined that they were able to do it with 100% efficiency,” CNN reported. “Of course, like everything else, this decision to take the COVID-19 vaccine is going to be decided from school district to district.”
How Did Senator Sanders Weigh In?
Of course, now we get to the elephant in the room that you are all wondering: just why is it that Senator Sanders is not taking the side of the Nanny State like he normally does? Well, the answer to that is simple, and let’s just let the gentleman from Vermont explain it himself:
“It isn’t our job to tell kids whether they should get vaccinated or not,” Sanders should. “That should be left up to the parents.”
Well, I’m going to McDonald’s this morning, and it’s a good thing I didn’t already have some coffee because I swear I would spit it up all over my computer screen in surprise!
He is saying this? The guy that President Trump called “Crazy Bernie” is saying this? My goodness, the world truly has been turned on its head here, that is for sure.
My gosh, maybe Bernie will come to his senses and decide to join the GOP! No, now I’m just dreaming….
Kudos to Bernie for some rare common sense!
