Hell Has Frozen Over! CNN’s Cuomo And Lemon DEFENDED A Cop!

Perhaps I’m showing my age here, but I remember way back in 1994 when the Eagles reunited. They called their new album “Hell Freezes Over” because a lot of the members didn’t think that when they broke up in 1980 that they would have ever reunite for any reason. That’s one of the surprises about modern life: sometimes the things you think would never happen actually do. Although it’s perhaps not as high or as grand a scale as the Eagles, but you can definitely say that “Hell Freezes Over” when you look at the latest behavior of CNN political commentators Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo. They actually appeared to TAKE THE SIDE of an officer who had to fatally shoot a teenage girl who had been caught on police body cam video swinging a knife at other females at a Columbus, Ohio residence.

What Were Lemon and Cuomo’s Comments Regarding This?

Of course, first things first. Lemon and Cuomo are by no means conservative commentators. In fact, there are many right-wing online periodicals that take these two individuals to task for their radical left agenda and opinions. However, even a blind pig can find food every once in a while, I suppose! In this particular instance, the pair actually delivered some fair and sober-minded perspectives on this tragic incident. They first of all noted how it took place just before the verdict was read for the Derek Chauvin trial. Additionally, the verbal fireworks really seemed to start once Cuomo signed off on his program and passed the baton to Lemon, who noted that there was a “great deal of emotion” and “a great deal of anguish” regarding the issue, but he pivoted on this, positing that “we’ve got to be fair about what could possibly happen when police arrive at a scene.”

Indeed, the first surprising thing he said is that while yes indeed the victim was an adolescent, “when police begin chasing suspects, they can’t always tell how old they are.”

“When a police officer rolls up on a scene, they might see a lot of people tussling around, and they might see that someone has a knife. So their job is to protect and serve every life present there,” Lemon commented. “And what if they see someone who is in the process of stabbing someone, taking a life…what decision is it that they have to make?”

Of course, the two traded jabs about how it might be better to use a Taser instead of a gun. However, Lemon HIMSELF took issue with that argument.

“A Taser will not work the way that a gun will work,” Lemon quickly noted.

Cuomo nodded his head in agreement. “No, not at that distance. And not with that short amount of time.”

Lemon then proceeded to remind viewers that Tasers “do not always connect” because the prongs will have to grab the skin in the correct manner for the electrical charge to incapacitate a suspect correctly.

“This is Why I’m Not a Police Officer.”

“If the woman in the pink were my niece, sister, wife, whatever she might be, you will have to make a decision. Can you say that one life is worth more than another? Can you say that you would know fully what to do in this situation? Would you protect the person who was trying to take another person’s life, or do you protect the person whose life is in danger from the other person? This is why I’m not a police officer.”

Lemon also observed that “a stabbing can actually be more fatal at a certain distance. If you get stabbed in the artery, the temple, or somewhere else that’s important, you’re going to bleed out.”

“I have to feel for that officer,” Cuomo said. “You can hear it in his voice when the man on the side of him was saying, ‘You just shot my little girl! You just shot my baby!’ and [the officer] simply said, ‘She had a knife and she was going right toward her.’ This is something that he is going to have to live with too.”

“Either way, in that position, I think someone is going to end up passing away,” Lemon said.

WHOA! Unlike tons of other liberals who are ready to throw the book at this officer as well, we actually have the normally far-left Cuomo and Lemon team ACTUALLY DEFENDING the police officer? How do you like them apples? Could it be that they are starting to get tired of some of this unrest as well?
