The United States Senate is comprised of one hundred men and women, and throughout all of those there were only six GOP senators who were willing to vote against a hate crime bill that is total nonsense. Unfortunately, most of the GOP simply gave in to the demands of their Democrat counterparts, and they kowtowed to their wishes regarding an “anti-Asian hate crime” bill. Senators Tommy Tuberville, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton, Rand Paul, Josh Hawley, and Roger Marshall were the only GOP senators who voted against this bill.
A Nonsense Bill Receiving Bipartisan Support! What Else is New?
Indeed, there is some immense national hysteria over “anti-Asian hate crimes.” This issue seemed to come about almost overnight simply because there was some feverish attention from the liberal news media.
Is there any evidence of a streak of attacks against those of Asian descent? No, not really, but when the media becomes obsessed with something, there seems to be no stopping them.
Legislation has a tendency to move at a crawl in the nation’s capital, but not this bill. Not only was this hate crime bill created with a tremendous amount of speed, but it even emerged before most of the senators were able to ask any questions about the bill or have the ability to thoroughly investigate it!
Of course, this didn’t stop Republican Senator Jodi Ernst and 91 of her colleagues from voting on this bill. She defended her vote by saying she is adamantly opposed to “hate crimes”, but bills such as this one are incredibly vague and difficult to define. Of course, none of these senators were actually able to define what a hate crime, and part of the reason for that is because these hate crime bills are notoriously vague and can be easily abused. The side effects truly abound with these bills!
Senate GOP Surrendering En Masse
The fact that only six GOP senators stood up to this bill shows the sad state of affairs in our country and in this party as well. We should give credit to the six dissenting Republicans, who said that the Senator “should be able to have the benefit of conducting proper research from the Department of Justice before we act blindly on this issue.”
Instead, the entire Senator rushed blindly into another set of a sweeping set of legislation. Would Whites and Christians get the benefit of some legislation being rammed through on their behalf? It’s highly unlikely folks.
However, every other group can pile on and join the assault on the traditions of our country without a full investigation of this bill. However, American conservatives can still take a small bit of comfort in knowing that at least their congressmen and women still have some common sense.
Very concerning, to say the least.
