It used to be that if Hollywood didn’t want you to be around for your views that they would just stop casting you in movies or TV shows.
Luckily for folks that are not afraid to speak their mind, you now have more than one way to make a movie. Think about this for a moment, if you own an iPhone for example, you could probably make a movie on that thing and just use some editing software on your computer.
There isn’t just one store that someone who wants to make a movie has to anymore. Hell, I have seen people release movies online and make quite a bit of money. So, that being said…
Cancel culture fails! A conservative star in The Mandalorian: A Star Wars Story, Ms. Gina Carano has defied leftist cancel culture and rather than going quietly into the good night, her star has begun to skyrocket!
Not only is former UFC fighter turned actress Carano’s star on the rise, she’s the most popular star on IMDB! Talk about a comeback!
The actress was controversially fired by Disney after she posted to Instagram an image depicting a Jewish woman running from Nazi guards with the caption comparing the “othering” of conservatives by the left to the divisiveness among Germans which led to the holocaust during the Third Reich.
Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors … even by children.
“Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”
The response on social media was immediate with #WeLoveGinaCarano trending virally amongst conservative and libertarian users, conservative and libertarian personalities universally condemned the action from Disney/Lucasfilm
“Carano’s firing has been one of the biggest talking points on social media over the past 7 days, so it shouldn’t be surprising that this has translated to the ex-MMA fighter topping IMDb’s charts. There’s been an ongoing saga of headlines featuring the actress’ name, from her Instagram post that caused so much offence to Lucasfilm’s decision to cut ties with her, to her subsequent blasting of the studio and partnership with right wing website The Daily Wire.”
Typically an actor or actress being at the top of the IMDB list would indicate a level of success or popularity in mainstream Hollywood but Carano’s rise is unique. Yes, it is absolutely related to her fantastic portrayal of New Republic Soldier Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, but it is seen also as a stern rebuke of Disney’s abrupt cancellation of her, which she believes was planned well in advance with the instagram post a mere excuse. This is because Carano has been an outspoken conservative for quite some time and this was not the first call for her “cancellation”.
