Some people you just cannot reach, and some people you will just never get to say sensible things.
Being the major or any city, no matter how large or small is a pretty tough job. However, nobody gets forced to take public office, so if they are complaining about something they have to remember that they wanted to do the job.
Atlanta was never exactly the safest city in the world. It wasn’t exactly the most peaceful streets, and anyone that lives there can tell you are are some places in that town you don’t eve go to when it is light outside.
That being said, how can you blame a guy that has only been on the job for a couple of years for the problems that a city ha been dealing with for decades?
Democrats all agree on one thing. President Trump is very responsible. Whenever a Democrat does something incredibly stupid they simply blame it on the president.
Take Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms as an example. She twice marched with the lawless ‘protesters’ from BLM and when they took over University Avenue and pointed guns at white people who tried to drive down the street, she did nothing.
Even after an innocent eight year old girl was shot, killing her, she did not try to immediately force the demonstrators and agitators to disburse, she just asked them to please leave. Less than 24 hours later they shot three men, leaving one dead. What did Bottoms do? Nothing. her incompetence knows no bounds.
At least she condemned the girls death and those responsible stating:
“But the difference in this moment in time and the civil rights movement, the civil rights movement there was a defined common enemy,” she said. “So, we’re fighting the enemy within when we are shooting each other up on our streets in this city and you shot and killed a baby. And it wasn’t one shooter, there were at least two shooters. An 8-year-old baby. If you want people to take us seriously and you don’t want us to lose this movement, then we can’t lose each other.”
Then she tries to pass the buck and blame Trump for the little girl’s death.
Brooke Baldwin asked Bottoms:
“I want to just get right to Secoriea, 8 years of age. You said it over the weekend. She was a baby. How could this happen?”
“I was listening to [Chicago] Mayor [Lori] Lightfoot, she summed it up. We talk about systemic racism and the trauma and anxiety and all these things that are happening in our communities. And it is this convergence.”
“And I hate to use the word a perfect storm, but it’s where we are in this country right now. And you think about the leadership or the lack thereof that we have coming from the highest office in the land. I think that you are seeing so many emotions play out. And so, too often, it’s playing out in violence in our streets.”
