A shameless mom-of-eight, who rakes in £26,000 yearly benefits, sparks outrage after she said she was “too beautiful” to get a real job.
While most single parents work their butts off to provide a good life for their children, Marie Buchan from Selly Oak in Birmingham refuses to do a single ounce of work. She dreams of becoming a mechanic but is unable to find a job because men keep trying it on with her.
Although she reminds herself about her good looks every day, she thinks her chosen field of work – as an auto mechanic – would not be a good place for her to make money. Not because the job is tough or requires long hours, but because she would is too attractive and they wouldn’t hire her because of it.
Buchan has made the recent decision to get breast augmentation surgery. And her boyfriend plans to pay for the expensive procedure. And a “hot” auto mechanic would simply not fit in at the job.
‘You’ve got women in the police force, in the Army, we have the skills, it’s just that men see us as sex symbols.’
Since taxpayers are not fronting the cash for the cosmetic surgery, it is still strange that a mother of eight on welfare is spending thousands of dollars on surgery when the money could be put to good use to help her children’s future.
The 37-year-old, who previously complained about cuts to her £31,000 benefits, is expected to finish her diploma in March and is looking for work.
She recently made headlines when she appeared on This Morning and said she preferred saving her care worker wages for a boob job than using it for her family because ‘child tax credits and working tax credits pay for the kids’. (Video Below)
Buchan has been harshly criticized for her lifestyle. She has appeared on talk shows in an effort to defend her choices but the British taxpayers are still unforgiving of her choices. They feel that people like her are freeloading off a system that should be helping people who can’t help themselves.
