Woman Who Bought Gun In Travyon Martin Case For $250,000 Reveals What She Plans To Do With It [VIDEO]
The gun used to kill unarmed black teenager Trayvon Martin in 2012 and ignited Black Lives Matter could be taking up permanent residence in Daytona Beach.
According to reports, a mother paid $250,000 to buy the gun that killed Trayvon Martin. The weapon is now a birthday gift for the buyer’s son, George Zimmerman revealed.
In one of the interviews from The Daily Best, the shooting of Trayvon Martin to death in Sanford, Florida, made it clear for Zimmerman that he has no remorse and bears outright hostility for the parents whose son he took away forever.
Denny Honeycutt, a Florida bar owner was an initial prospect of Zimmerman to sell the gun for $150,000 but he ended up selling it to the unidentified mother instead for $250,000, the Daily Mail reported.
“I thought he was a man of his word,” Honeycutt said, reports The Daytona Beach News-Journal. “I still got the check waiting on him. If he comes back, he comes back. If he doesn’t, he’s an [expletive].”
When Zimmerman heard about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s “anti-gun rhetoric”, he immediately decided to sell the gun.
“She has been stumping around for a false campaign for the Trayvon Martin Foundation,” he added. “She lied saying that I killed him when he was walking home in his daddy’s neighborhood. Which if anyone watched more than seven minutes of the trial they would know that is false.”
Zimmerman added the gun was precious to him.
“It is what was used to save my life from a near-death brutal attack by Trayvon Martin,” Zimmerman said.
He added the controversial sale was also a part of his greater goal to fight Black Lives Matter activists.
“I would take that money and I would make sure that every law enforcement officer and every single civilian who is affected by the Black Lives Matter fraudulent, violent campaign—those officers, those civilians, their entire families—were made wealthy beyond their wildest imaginations,” he said, reports the Daily Beast.
Zimmerman shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26, 2012 because he thought the hooded boy looked suspicious. Martin was dead before police arrived.
In 2013 Zimmerman would be acquitted of murder charges after his defense argued Zimmerman killed the unarmed teenager in self-defense, sparking international uproar.
He has since been in trouble with law enforcement multiple times for various incidents, ranging from threatening to shoot his ex-girlfriend to a road rage incident, the Daily Beast reports.
Zimmerman has also been criticized for showing little remorse over Martin’s death.
“Sure, I’m sorry for any parent that has lost a child,” Zimmerman said “That being said, I also believe it’s [the parents’] duty to have an internal dialogue to see what they should have done better and what they should have done appropriately.”
