Jan Morgan, the woman, who banned Muslims from her gun range, has yet to face any charges and reported that the business is booming despite the threat of discrimination complaints.
Gun Cave Indoor Shooting Range owner Jan Morgan announced that her Arkansas business would become a “Muslim-free zone”. And at least one anti-discrimination complaint from the Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has been threatened, but Morgan’s gun range has remained closed to the religious group. Morgan’s story gained attention once again on Wednesday when she posted a furious rant to Facebook.
“Geeze…I hate to have to embarrass the liberal mainstream media again, but…a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do,” Morgan wrote. Included in her post were several pictures of the South Asian shooters which she uploaded after some customers accused her of turning away anyone with brown skin. According to Washington Post, the complaint was made by an anonymous father and son of South Asian decent who, though they identify as Hindu, claimed they were turned away because of their skin color.
Though Morgan admitted in the post that she had asked the two men to leave her gun range, she insisted it was because of their “strange” behavior. Morgan defended her policy and said that she can identify Muslims based on their names. She argued that Islam is a religion that commands its followers to kill others, and that she wouldn’t put a gun in the hand of “someone who aligns himself” with that ideology.
“We are dealing in lethal firearms,” Morgan said. “I’m not going to let a Nazi shoot in here, or a Ku Klux Klan member in here, either.” Despite the negative publicity surrounding Morgan’s gun range, like a letter of complaint from CAIR to the U.S. Attorney General, Morgan reported that business is booming. Morgan added that she would consider banning other ideologies from her range if they posed a threat to her patrons.
