The story of the mysterious man in Denny’s Restaurant has recently touched the heart of the public. The reason for his unusual request to the restaurant’s waitress has also been revealed.

Recently, a man showed up at Denny’s in Utah with a special request, according to the Love What Matters Facebook page. And as it turns out, the reason behind this particular stipulation is a proof that there are still kindhearted men in this world.

The man sat at his table and watched other customers for about two hours, and what he did next leave employees speechless.

He requested a waitress who was a single mother. Though it seemed a bit odd, the restaurant was happy to oblige his request and seated him the section belonging to a waitress named Crystal.

He came watching those who came in to dine. He was looking particularly for families, and over the two hours he spent at the restaurant, he paid the bill for seven families. The tabs added up to over $1,000 in food.

When asked why he would do this for complete strangers, his response was both heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. With pain shining through in his eyes, the man replied,
“Family is everything, I’ve lost all mine.”

Crystal shared her story to the man and when he left the restaurant he gave her $1500 over his $21.34 bill. And because of it, Crystal and her son get their new place next week.

Currently, the man in a photo and story that went viral last week is sharing the reason behind it all.

“I’ve done this many times, but this is the one that got out,” the man, who asked only to be identified as Briggs, said during his interview.”

When he was asked about the reason for helping a single mom, he said.

“I grew up with a single mother of six. We were poor and homeless a lot,” Briggs told Dateline. “I watched and suffered for years as I watched her work her hands to the bone to give us a good life. She raised us to be kind and help others. Many years down the road, I was facing prison and getting in trouble. It ended up causing me to lose my family because I was a really terrible person.”

Briggs also revealed that he turned his life around. He has opened his own business and become a success. Highlighting that he was helping others as he was raised to do.
