Police Officer Fatally Shoots Girlfriend For Rejecting His Marriage Proposal [VIDEO]

A police officer shot his girlfriend dead after she reportedly rejected his marriage proposal. He then turned the gun on himself.

Anne Wanjohi who worked at her sister’s cyber cafe in Nairobi CBD was shot 5 times on Saturday evening by his boyfriend Officer Simon Njoroge Njau, who served in the General Service Unit (GSU). The officer then turned the gun on himself in an attempt to take his own life.

Reports said Njau used his official Jericho pistol on the horrific event.

According to witnesses, the officer went into Web Link Cyber Café located at Braidwood House along Tom Mboya Street opposite the Nairobi Fire Station and found Anne attending to a client.

He wanted to talk to her about their relationship because she had wanted to break up with him over the past two weeks. However, Anne was busy assisting a client who was doing some applications.

Njau left the cyber café very angry and told her he would be back in a few minutes.

When he came back, he brought a gun with him and shot Anne 5 times before shooting himself 3 times.

Anne was pronounced dead while Njau was immediately rushed to Kenyatta National hospital in critical condition.

The two apparently had known each other for only three months but Njau got obsessed with his girlfriend so he insisted to marry her, which made the latter uncomfortable so she started avoiding him.

According to Nairobi Police Commander Japhet Koome, Officer Njau will be charged once he is well enough.

Meanwhile, Mary Wangare, Anne’s sister, paid tribute to her sister. She took to social media where she goes by the name ‘Merliy Karely’ to remember the moments she had spent with her younger sister, Anne.

According to Wangare, the officer had threatened her sister numerous times that he would kill her if she did not agree to marry him. She said her sister had been rejecting the officer’s marriage proposal and kept telling him she was not ready.
