One day, the son decided to remodel their workbench. As he flipped over the workbench, he noticed something written underneath. As he looked closely, he was blown away by what he has discovered.
The sweet note was written in a red marker on wooden planks under the workbench that a man decided to remodel. The secret love note was coming from his late father for his beloved mother.
His father tragically died at the age of 51 on February 2016 from a ruptured artery.
Son accidentally discovered his late father’s touching love letter to his mother after dismantling an old workbench.
He described his father as a devoutly religious man who had passed suddenly. Sometime before he died, he described his love for his wife in this hidden spot, not knowing how much the words would mean now after his passing.
He then posted the note on social media with an Imgur username of ButAnywayHeresWonderwall after the discovery which has been viewed for more than 800,000 times.
“My dad passed away on February 26th at the age of 51 from a ruptured artery,” his son wrote on Imgur. “He made this workbench for my mom, Becca, when she got into metal engraving.”
“He was technically my step dad, but being as how I’ve never met my biological father, he was the only and best father I had,” the Imgur user says.
The inscription reads:
I love you Becca.
Whatever day this is, I hope it’s a good one. God truly answered my prayers the day he gave me you. I know that these days are the best I’ll ever have, and I’m glad you’re in them.
I’m not sure if you’ll ever see this, but if you do, just know that I love you very much. If there is one thing want in life, it is to be as good to you as you are to me. If I can do that, I’ll be the happiest man alive.
I love you beautiful wife.

In an effort to preserve the inscription, Mason’s son removed the two planks from the center and mounted them in a frame.
According to Mason’s son, they were lucky to have their faith to guide them. “I have never seen two people so much in love”, he said.
